Leg 1: Start of leg GR: SN583820

| Starting from the bandstand on the promenade, walk north along the promenade until you reach its end. |
Leg 2: Start of leg GR: SN583825

| At the end of the promenade turn right to the road at the upper level and just before the Funicular Railway station turn left onto a path which takes you to the top. (At this point you have the choice of taking the Funicular Railway!) |
Leg 3: Start of leg GR: SN584828

| From the top of Constitution Hill keep left going downhill along the coast path until after about 600 yards you will see a metal pedestrian gate on your right |

| Go up through the gate and follow the path for about 300 yards to a gate on your left |

| Go through the gate and follow the path which on an overgrown forestry track until you arrive at a tarmac lane |

| Walk up the lane almost immediately passing some cottages on your right, one of which has the handwritten name Ael y bryn. Proceed up along the lane passing another lot of terraced cottages on your right, one of which colourfully displays the name Allt Glas. Walk on to the point where the lane hairpins right.et on the map |

| At the bend continue ahead along the woodland path. There will be an iron fence as you proceed above an old quarry. Afterwards a public path comes in your right and later a public path leads downwards from your left. Ignore these paths and continue along the path until you meet the road. |

| At the road you will find a gate opposite you. Carefully cross the road and go through the gate then along a grassy land for short distance until you see a stile on your right |

| Cross the stile and follow the path up the hill, walk along the side of the crematorium, passing memorials, and walk out of the main entrance, turning left at the main road. Walk upwards along the roadside verge until after about 200 yards you arrive at a tarmac lane going left. |

| Continue down the road until it becomes private and take the Bridleway through the gate on the right |

| For just over three quarters of a mile follow the track through the fields then following it downhill to the valley bottom to where it meets a farm access road and a kissing gate opposite |

| Go through the kissing gate and keeping the hedge and Afon Clarach to your right walk for a mile until you see a house ahead , cross the stile in the fence and walk the few yards past the house to the main road at the old bridge Pont Llangorwen |

| Follow the farm road past the farm house. Pass through this and bear left to pass through another gate.From here climb a little to the left reaching a stile at the left edge of a camp site. The path proceeds along a bank above the caravans to reach a macadam road. |

| Turn right along the tarmac road and walk approx 600 yards to the coastal path and sign, just before ther is a right turn to the sea front. If convenient make a detour right to buy an ice cream or coffee |
Leg 15: Start of leg GR: SN588837

| Follow the coast path upwards for half a mile or so to the top of Aberystwyth's Constitution Hill. On top of the hill look out for the rounded building which houses the Camera Obscura and an exhibition of Aberystwyth's Past. Worth a look. You may at this point decide to descend the hill on the Cliff Railway. |
Leg 16: Start of leg GR: SN584828

| If you are walking down take care to keep to the right, almost alongside the cliff. You will see a concrete ramp bounded by two gate posts, go through this to the cliff side. Then follow the zig zag path down the hill, with bridges over the Cliff Railway in two places . Emerge alongside the Cliff Railway Station. Here rejoin any of your party which took the railway down. |
Leg 17: Start of leg GR: SN584825

| As you emerge from the path turn sharp right to go the few yards on to the promenade. Walk along the promenade the three hundred yards or so to the bandstand where the walk ends. Refresh yourself at one of Aberystwyth's numerous cafes or pubs. |
